BAND FIESTA UPDATE – PLEASE READ

The West Band Boosters have postponed the Band Fiesta meal and raffle that had originally been scheduled for Saturday, March 28. A new date has not been decided at this time. The Boosters will contact individuals who have purchased tickets and will print updates in The West News once revisions have been decided. The Boosters will meet this Wednesday at 6 PM at Slovacek’s to discuss these Band Fiesta changes. Thank you for your patience and support.

Who We Are

BOOSTERS

For several years the West Band Booster Club has been behind the scenes raising money for the band to provide food on trips, scholarships, and so much more. The boosters also help during games and performances. If you have a band student (any grade 6th-12th) please join the boosters!

STAFF

Mark Dorsey has been a director in West long enough now to see his first group of 6th-graders graduate from High School. Leah Jones is beginning her second year here at West. Their leadership is paving the way to a bright future for the West band program at middle and high school levels.

STUDENTS

The West High School (and Middle School) band students are hard-working and determined performers who practice tirelessly to be better musicians and performers – whether it’s on the field marching or in a concert setting. The Pride of West is just that, and the students live up to that nomenclature.

2018-19 Band Banquet

2017 Area Finalists

The Pride of West marching band competed in Groesbeck for Regionals on October 21, 2017, and advanced to the Area competition on October 28, 2017, at Midway's Panther Stadium. The band finished 4th in the preliminaries and for the first time since 2000 advanced to the finals of the Area competition where they finished 6th out of 10 bands and just missed advancing to the State competition. The video here is from the 2016 marching season - we will have this year's performance soon.
